System overview
A tested assembly, confirmed per project
Impact and hurricane-resistant glazing is a tested assembly, not a glass type added to an ordinary frame. Capital Glass reviews the opening, the substrate, the anchors, and the glass against the project requirements before confirming what can be furnished or installed.
Substituting glass, anchors, or a frame outside the tested assembly changes the condition. Capital Glass does not publish a design pressure or a product approval on this page. Those facts come from the project requirements and the assembly under review.
- 01
- The whole assembly Review frame, glass, anchors, and substrate together. A single impact-resistant component is not the assembly.
- 02
- The opening condition Coastal, high-wind, and protected-opening requests are checked against the documents for that project, including what the substrate can accept.
- 03
- Limitations Size, glass makeup, anchorage, and adjacent construction can limit which tested assemblies apply. Those limits are stated before work is defined.
Coordinated with the package
Reviewed as part of the opening.
- Tested frame, glass, and anchor combination
- Substrate and opening preparation
- Entrances that must remain inside the same requirement
- Project-specific limitations before pricing
No design pressure, notice of acceptance, or manufacturer approval is stated here. Impact performance is confirmed for the assembly and the project, or it is not claimed. This page is not a named project.
Discuss an impact-resistant opening
Send the project location, the opening type, and the requirement or drawing that calls for impact resistance. Capital Glass will review whether the requested assembly fits the condition.
